Hard to say, really, about the increased view count. However, my feeling is that most readers want to at least peruse the links, we handpick & curate for them, AHEAD of the weekend. I know, when I receive a roundup on Friday, I'll often pick which links I, then, want to focus on reading for Saturday or Sunday.
Me personally, I move stuff from emails to my Notion 'To Read' list.
