Last night, my dame and I hit up a few legal juice joints with a some friends.
We put on our best Gatsby era duds to, mostly, help remind ourselves of something worth reflecting on:
Life itself — our lives, your life — is 100x worth more than sitting around being ‘sucked into’ their version of reality. The cultural Matrix is a very hard one to pop out of, once you’re in deep.
Trust me, I know. I once, like many readers on the very platform this email is hosted on (SubStack), used to get immersed in observing every odd duck things going on in society.
Whether it was amalgamating everything, woke (in the words of Charlie Kirk) as “some Netflix special about a black lesbian in a wheelchair complaining about some injustice,” or passing along tales that aren’t fully true…
I once let the constant news cycle rule my world — my energy, my mind, my time.
So, if anything, this Sunday afternoon (a Sunday where I’m on hiatus from my standard link roundup), I’m simply passing along a friendly plea to:
Remind your friends, family and neighbors to stop bitching about shit they can’t control. Engage in something wholesome and virtuous. A good cigar, is a start. ;)
Get out there and engage life — in all its glory, beyond the digital screens, and JUST BE!
Until I riff in haste again,

By-the-way, I think Gatsby is still auditioning on Broadway for stand-ins. Think about it. And of course, this Tuesday in Ashland for the parade of parades..
Thanks Bear. My insurance covers those toilet ejector seats. Who would have thunk.
