The Wit & Wisdom of Forrest Gump
Bubba Gump Philosophy: Navigating Life with "just a local idiot!"
It would simply be comical, if only it wasnât so, so true:
We ambitious, overly-analytical, envious â sometimes even compulsive and obsessive â humans tend to outsmart ourselves⌠in more ways than we would care to admit.
Thatâs basically what Mr. Gump was telling us when he said:
âSome people, like me, are born idiots, but many more become stupider as they go along.â
And heâs right, ya know⌠âcause you just canât practice self-deception if youâre so dull you always see right through everything youâre doing.
But, Iâm writing you on good authority today knowing, with 99% certainty, that youâre not a self-confessed (but charming) idiot.
Unlike Forrest, you probably donât have a fully unrestricted perception about your storyline â i.e., seeing your own reality-making director, minute-by-minute, allowing life to happen through (not to) you.
In other words, for most of us, when it comes to the changes we desire in our experiential script here on earth, the re-write needs to be delivered from the inside-out.
Whether itâs acquiring more wealth, establishing enriching relationships, breaking negative bonds or old patterns with others (or anything else we want changed) a lot of the time it just takes some simple, home-spun perspective and guidance from others.
Often, that one new perspective is all we need to go within and make a quick change.
Maybe, for instance, when it comes to a dis-serving wealth belief you â or someone you know â are clinging onto, you just need to hear something like:
The gap between the Haves and the Have-Nots isnât due to anything the former group is doing. But, verifiably and legitimately, it is due to what the latter group is NOT doing.
Things like NOT increasing their skill sets, improving their minds, changing their beliefs, and solving problems or adding value in some way, shape, or fashion.
Yeah, simple and obvious to some. And, to others, not so much.
